Visa:
1. Australian ETA visa :
An ETA is equivalent to a visa, but there is no stamp or label in your passport and there is no need for you to
visit an Australian diplomatic office to submit an application, we will arrange everything.
When you arrive at an airport for check-in on a flight to Australia, the airline check-in staff can electronically confirm that you have authority to board the flight to Australia.
If you are granted an electronic Tourist/Short Validity Business ETA we will send you a notification of the grant
of your visa by to your email address. Please keep this notification as it describes the conditions that apply to your visa.
2. The ETA Process :
Your application will be processed same day or in some cases within 3 days you'll be informed of the result of your application ASAP.
To submit an application for a visa, clients must hold a valid passport. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months.
Am I eligible ?
1. You are only eligible to apply for an ETA while you are outside of Australia.
2. Travellers holding the following passports may now apply for an ETA.
Andorra- Austria- Belgium-Brunei-Canada-Denmark-Finland-France-Germany-Greece- Iceland -Ireland -Italy -Japan-Liechtenstein-Luxembourg-Malaysia-Malta-Monaco-Netherlands-Norway-
Portugal-San Marino-Singapore-South Korea-Spain-Sweden-Switzerland-United Kingdom-United States Of America-Vatican City-Hong Kong SAR.
Holders of UK British National (Overseas) (GBN) passports are not eligible.
3. What types of ETA are there ?
(1) Visitor ETA
If you are travelling for tourism or to visit friends or relatives, and wish to stay for up to three months on each visit within a twelve month period, you should apply for the Visitor/Tourist ETA.
(2) Short Validity Business ETA
If you are travelling on business, you may apply for the Short Validity Business ETA. It entitles the holder to make multiple visits within 12 months and permits a stay of up to 3 months on each visit.
In Short the ETA is currently available for :
- Tourists: multiple visits with a maximum stay of three months per visit, and
- Short Stay Business travellers: multiple business visits with a maximum stay of three months per visit.
In both cases the visa has a 12 month validity from date of the grant of the ETA or to the expiry date of your passport, whichever is the earlier.You may enter Australia up until the last day
of the validity of the ETA and may then stay in Australia for up to three months.
4. Travelling with Family :
All family members must have a visa or ETA to travel to Australia.
The ETA can be used to apply for for all members of your family travelling with you provided they also fall within the ETA eligibility criteria.
Even if your children travel on your passport they will need ETAs. When you apply, you will need to enter the passport details exactly as for your own passport, replacing the name, date of birth,
sex and country of birth with your children's details as they appear in your passport.
5. What are the conditions ?
(1) The conditions on a Visitor ETA are :
A. It is valid for visits to Australia for tourism or to visit friends or relatives.
B. It is valid for multiple visits within 12 months from date of issue.
C. The maximum length of each visit is three months.
D. You may not work while in Australia.
(2) The conditions on a Short Validity Business ETA are :
A. The Short Stay Validity Business ETA is appropriate for visits to Australia for business meetings, conventions, conferences or a short term project requiring a high level of skill.
Business visas are subject to a condition prohibiting work that could otherwise be undertaken by any Australian citizen or permanent resident. Generally, persons seeking to engage in paid employment
in Australia should apply for the Temporary Business Entry (Long Stay) visa - subclass 457 or other appropriate class of visa.
B. It is valid for multiple visits within 12 months from date of issue.
C. The maximum length of each visit is three months.
For both types of ETA available, remember that you may not be permitted to enter Australia unless you are in good health and have no criminal convictions.
